Music journalist, host & conversation designer.
Mission
I believe in depth, precision, and the power of the right question.
My work shapes how music is communicated across artists and institutions — with clarity, rigor, and a strong sense of perspective.
Fanny Opitz, Music Journalist
About
I’m a music journalist, host, and conversation designer.
My work moves between editorial storytelling and artistic collaboration. I write, produce and host formats for radio, podcast and stage, and I work closely with artists to shape how they speak about their work.
I studied German and Italian literature, philosophy of religion, and theology in Freiburg and Rome, and hold a doctorate (Dr. phil.) from the University of Potsdam. This academic background continues to inform my work. It shapes how I think, how I ask questions, and how I approach music as a cultural and social force.
Over the past 18 years, I’ve worked with public broadcasters, cultural institutions and international partners. My work is rooted in journalistic depth, strong research, and a deep understanding of music in its wider contexts.
Along the way, I’ve built a strong network across media, music, and cultural contexts, from radio to festivals and international projects.
Keynotes, academic classes, teaching, moderation, and jury work.
I have contributed to and collaborated with these organisations in various capacities, both on a project basis and through ongoing partnerships.
